Our childcare program is for children ages 2-10. Parents of younger children are welcome to bring them to the child care space at First Unitarian Society and stay with them; we cannot accept responsibility for the care of children under 2 years old.

Childcare Schedule:

Rosh Hashanah First Morning
Thursday, Oct 3
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Yom Kippur Morning
Saturday, Oct 12
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Registration for child care is required. We need an accurate head count so we can hire the correct number of childcare workers.

The deadline for registration is September 23.

Please pick your child up promptly after the service ends. Young children are welcome to attend the tot service with their parents from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Children are also welcome to attend the adult service or hang out in the "quiet room" adjacent to the sanctuary before childcare begins.

If you do not register ahead of time, and there are spots still open at 10:00 a.m., you can sign up and be billed later. Please note: Parents who have not registered their children are welcome to stay with them in the child care space and be responsible for their own supervision.

To cancel at any time, please email office@shamayim.org.

Pre-teens are welcome to hang out in childcare. If they do, you must register them, and our childcare workers will supervise them. If they are not registered, they must be supervised by an adult. They may not roam the facility at the First Unitarian Society. They are welcome to hang out immediately outside of services in the library.

Teens must either be in services or outside of services in the library or Commons area. They will have a discussion from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Parents must be on-site at all times when their children are in childcare.

Parents who would like to take their children out of childcare during the service, even for a short time, must sign them out. Our babysitters can walk children up to the services if they would like to find their parents.

Snacks will be provided, but children will need to bring a dairy/vegetarian sack lunch.

We are not allowed to use the playground on week days because the Meeting House preschool is in session. We are welcome to use it at all other times.
