Friday Potlucks

Our First Friday Potlucks are informal and family-friendly. We gather in a member’s home to celebrate Shabbat, and each of us brings a vegetarian dish to share. This is an opportunity to meet new people, connect with members of the community, and teach our children the customs of Shabbat.

Shabbat Morning

Twice a month we gather for Torah study and Shabbat services at the First Unitarian Society. We typically hold Torah study at 9:30 a.m., Services at 10:30 a.m., and Kiddush at 12:30 p.m. These intimate services and study sessions are an opportunity for our members to connect with Jewish tradition, explore ancient texts, and pray together as a community.

Throughout the year we hold bnei mitzvah, which are significantly larger services led by our young people, intergenerational Shabbat services which incorporate guitar and are more accessible to the children in our Bet Sefer program; and a Shabbaton, which is led by a visiting rabbi.

On the Shabbat mornings when we do not have services, a group meets in a member's home to study the weekly Torah portion.

Services are held at the First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive, Gaebler Living Room. Please use the Gaebler entrance. We ask that you do not use electronic devices in the space where services are occurring. Please step into the hallway or outside the building.
