Support - Targeted Donations
Thank you for choosing to support Congregation Shaarei Shamayim.
Donations to our General Fund and Sustain Our Future Fund provide stability by funding staff salaries, ritual services, education and social action initiatives, and holiday celebrations – now and for years to come. Please support our daily and future operations by contributing to our General Fund and Sustain Our Future Fund.
The following targeted funds support specific aspects of Shaarei Shamayim's activity.
Donations to this fund enable us to offer High Holiday services free of charge.
The purpose of this fund is to support activities and events at CSS with a focus on Jewish Renewal, which may emphasize spiritual experiences, contemplative practices, and new prayer modalities such as chant and embodied prayer.
This scholarship fund ensures that all of our students will be able to receive a Jewish education.
Donations to this fund help defray the cost of social actions conducted by CSS.
This fund allows us to bring special guests (Jewish musicians, guest rabbis, scholars) and to hold larger-scale events (e.g., Shabbatonim) for the whole congregation.
Individuals can make donations to honor or remember loved ones with this fund.
This fund, in memory of Judith Zukerman Kaufman, supports Shaarei Shamayim's ritual and educational programs.
Our rabbi confidentially supports people in need, and other charitable purposes, through the use of this fund.
Our members and their families can sponsor a Kiddush for our Shabbat services.
Israel/Palestine Education Fund
Donations are used to support programming for the "Reconstructionists Expanding Our Conversation on Israel/Palestine" series, a project of six Reconstructionist congregations.
Reframing Israel Curriculum Fund
Donations support a curriculum created by Rabbi Laurie that moves away from standard approaches to Israel education and proposes a different framework for teaching about Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Read more here.
Torah Maintenance/Sacred Books Fund
Donations are used for Torah maintenance and ritual book purchases. For donations of $54 and above a bookplate will be inserted into a prayer book.
